Throughout my third-year tenure journey I have successfully implemented all the feedback from previous years; from prioritizing time management; and ignoring the noise. The challenges I have experienced and overcome have made me a stronger counselor; better able to advocate for myself and my students; and better able to navigate the collegiate landscape at WLAC.  Fortunate and blessed, for having trusted advisors and mentors who want me to be successful. They have devoted many hours to coach, motivate, and encourage me. I am grateful and proud to say that my journey is becoming clearer.



 

This year I have worked on creating better work life balance. Because, as the only full-time counselor in DSPS, the balance is crucial. The increased workload and responsibilities have required additional hours to complete required tasks.  Therefore, I aspire to have longevity as a counselor and will actively work on strategies to create balance.
